could someone help me understand how the thetic operates in 'revolution in poetic language' (i was told i was a bit off on my understanding and i need to re-write something involving it. ) I wrote:
it is the point where the subject differentiates itself from the processes and space that produce it through mirroring in language...a place text can enter the subject by infusing the semiotic into the symbolic...the transformative process of bringing the semiotic—where unconscious drives (death, aural, anal) are always active and manifest—into the realm of the symbolic through a linguistic articulation that separates the subject from the process that produces it... The thetic is the point in between the semiotic and symbolic, where they are continually forced to interact with each other and dialectically produce a tension. This tension can reach particular intensities during periods in a subject’s development such as the mirror and phallic stages.
so does anyone have any idea where i strayed off target? thanks.
